Happenings in the Life of Sarita Bagley Coffman

I started the 1st grade at Browning and then we came back to the Purdin School for grades 2-5.
Mrs. Bunch was our 1st grade teacher, Ms. Hall, 2nd,  Mrs.Gooch, 3rd, Mrs. Cox was 4th and Ms Yagel taught our 5th grade class.  We then returned to Browning for the 6- 12 grades.  Shelby and Browning and Purdin consolided in our 7th grade class and then Linneus consolidated soon after...can't remember,  was that in the 8th grade?
Do you remember all the elections attempting to build a  new school  on the ballot but no one could agree where the new school  would be located?
Sarita Bagley  and members of class coming home from field trip to Jeff City.

I moved at the end of our Freshman year to Moline,Illinois.  I was so over whelmed with the big city and leaving our small farm, my friends, and community.  This was a turbulent time too.  Martin Luther King was killed and riots happened right around me.  I was ridiculed for my slight southern language and being a country girl.  They didn't even have a basketball team...we played basketball for 6 weeks in PE and I was the first pick when we were siding up!
Dad moved us back home before my Junior year but things were not the same, my friends had lived without me for a year, we were driving and dating, my dad was not feeling well, mom sick and having nerve problems and money was very tight.  Mother couldn't drive but she needed to go to the doctor so she kept me home to take her.  Many mornings I got up at 4 or 5am to drive Dad to Browning to get in his truck and then came home to take Mom to Brookfield to the doctor and then back to Browning at 6 or 7 pm to pick up Dad.  I guess my parents did what they had to do but it was rough to take the static from the school teachers.
It also made it rough to fit in with the other students and feel a part of my class.
Danny and I met in the summer of 1969 and married in May 1970.  I did not go on the Senior trip, my parents couldn't afford it and I think I was just ready to move on with my life.
Our first daughter Amy Annedied at 12 days a staph infection that she had gotten from the hospital she was born.
The following year, we had Ryan in 1972, then Ang in 1973 and Lisa in 1977.
Ryan lives in Trenton, Ang in Michigan, and Lisa in Nebraska.
Ryan and Mandy have Wyatt, 15 yo, and lives in Trenton
Ang married Wayne last year and lives in Michigan.
Lisa and Ken live in Nebraska and have Lexi, 11 yo and then Brandon 8 months old.
My Dad died the month after Lisa was born.
I went to college in Business first and was the office manager for an equipment company then took classes to be an EMT and then went back to school for 3 more years to become an R.N.  I worked at Chillicothe until we moved to the farm.  I worked for the Dept of Mental Health until I took the job as school nurse at ....LINN CO R-1.  I love it!  I love the kids and the people that I work with.
I raise sheep and cows, have a small fiber business that you can read about on my blog at  http://coffmanspinningcfarm.blogspot.com/

There is so many of our class mates that I lost track of and have not seen since we graduated, hope I learn what happened to them at the reunion.
